We see it as our responsibility to go farth- er. Not to just design nice spaces for our clients, but to use the design of these assets to further their business agenda. One such example is this collaboration with GE on the renovation and ex- pansion of their custom- er center; a space whose intended purpose is marketing. Here they would host potential clients after giving them a tour of the manufacturing facility. We took advant- age of this opportunity to re-invigorate the portrayal of their world-class im- age at this facility.

Seen in this image is the reception lobby.

The desire was conveyed to us that the visiting clients be shielded from the existing manufactur- ing plant and general office areas. We took that simple idea and turned it into this display gallery linking the visitor en- trance to the conference space. Here we could take advantage of a transition space to tout the design and manu- facturing prowess of GE.

This "Break Out" space as it was dubbed connects the gallery to the main board room. Along the way are private conference rooms to the right and built-in buffets on the left for catering functions. The space is also provided with tech- nologically integrated tables to support a multitude of functioning requirements. Once here the visitor would have all the comforts of their home office so that their day to day business can continue.

Also part of the design was a reconfiguration of the visitor entrance and the addition of a private courtyard. With these elements in place, the customer center would be an oasis of quiet within the manufacturing plant.

The form of the courtyard was borrowed from the physics of airflow through a turbine.
